Notes From The Vineyard

Hello from Pretty Good Vineyard!

Or, Hola de una Viña Decente (that's Spanish).

We are coming to you from a vineyard that might be somewhere in Arizona but it could be just about anywhere I suppose. Except things are a little different in Arizona so there is that.

In the heady days of long, long ago, when we lived in a big, big Arizona city, we had a couple thoughts in our heady heads. Let’s go somewhere else in Arizona and grow wine grapes and make wine. Maybe that's three thoughts. I never could count.

Wine grapes in Arizona? That might seem like a stretch because Arizona is best known for saguaros and canyons. So yes, it is a stretch.

Vineyards in Arizona are typically planted at high elevation where temperatures are cooler than in the lower spots. We get four seasons here including snowy winters, unlike the lower desert which has two seasons: 1) more hot and 2) less hot.

It’s just me, the wife, and the dog here. The vineyard is doing pretty good, the wine is coming out pretty good, and life is pretty good.

Thanks for stopping by!
